Introduction

 

As a fast expanding language training centre in central Birmingham, New Vision Language Centre provides quality Mandarin Chinese, English and other language courses to learners at different levels. Due to a recent quick increase in the number of students, we are now recruiting an administration and marketing manager to assist in the development, management and provision of language lessons within the Centre as well as promoting and marketing the Centre to a wider audience of public. The successful candidate will play an active role in the management, strategic planning and administration of the Centre.  You will advise for the Centre and assist the Director in the daily operation and management of the Centre, including overseeing major administrative and all marketing and advertising issues. You may also be asked to perform other duties occasionally which are not included in the following, but which will be consistent with the role.

 

 

Job Description

 

  • To co-ordinate, in liaison with the Director of the Centre, a wide variety of Centre strategic planning and to take responsibility for the monitoring of strategic plans and preparation of annual reports so as to ensure the Centre being continually well-organised as a good contributor to language education provision.

  • To promote and further develop the Centre by designing and implementing of advertising campaigns and marketing activities both in English and Chinese communities.

 

  • To be the major contact point between the Centre and the clients here in the UK as well as in China. To act on behalf of the Centre, disseminating relevant information and providing advice to current and prospective students/customers.

 

  • To oversee the preparation of routine reports and paperwork of the Centre and external accreditation and assessment activities when necessary.

 

  • To take responsibility for ensuring the Centre to maintain a comprehensive and accurate continuation of information, in terms of administrative operating procedures, Centre web site, courses brochures and other marketing materials.

 

  • To support the delivery of all language lessons, the campaign of promotion, and other activities so as to keep them efficient, effective and under regular review. You may need to deliver both Chinese and English lessons occasionally when there is a staff shortage.

 

  • To co-ordinate and develop all marketing and advertising projects by maximising potential marketing opportunities, overseeing preparation of advertising materials, such as electronic newsletters, flyers and course brochures.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personal Specification

 

Expertise/Competence/Skills
Being fluent in both English and Chinese languages.

Proven excellent oral and interpersonal skills.

Proven excellent written communication skills.

Good IT skills, including use of electronic management information systems and MS Office.

Teaching skills in second language teaching in both English and Chinese are desirable.

A full British driving license is essential.

 

Qualifications (IT/Academic/Vocational)

A degree of MA in applied linguistics/TEFL or equivalent.

 

Experience

Developing and maintaining networks with wide public, particularly potential customers of language courses.

Preparation of official reports documents and plans.

Administrative or secretarial experience in context of language education.

Engagement in an English-Chinese bilingual context.

Teaching experience of both English and Mandarin Chinese.

Experience in long distance learning is desirable.
